We primarily provide services to the region's hospitals in Örebro, Lindesberg, and Karlskoga, as well as health centers, Public Dental Service, and Regional Development.

Meal Service has an overarching goal - to serve the country's best food in hospitals. We work to increase the proportion of organic meals prepared from scratch and develop menus from an ecological, climate-smart, and economic perspective. We prepare and serve meals for patients at USÖ and Lindesberg Hospital. Common to our approximately 50 employees is our service spirit. Kitchen Assistant for Meal Service, Summer 2026

Job Responsibilities

As a kitchen assistant within Meal Service, you will work with a variety of tasks in a large kitchen. We are looking for someone who is computer literate, organized, and has a sense of teamwork.

The workday may consist of regular tasks in a large kitchen, such as preparations and cleaning before and after serving, portioning patient meals, washing dishes, digital documentation, receiving deliveries, and picking and packing goods and food.

We do our utmost to ensure that you feel safe and prepared by providing you with a thorough introduction tailored to your needs and experiences.

Working hours are Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We are now looking for you who:

  • Are at least 18 years old.
  • Have a good command of the Swedish language in speaking, reading comprehension, and writing.
  • Are computer literate, such as using the main functions of word processing software like Microsoft Word, sending, reading, and replying to emails in Outlook, and searching and managing information on the intranet.


  • Are dedicated: For you, it is natural to be a face outward. You build relationships with our customers, are responsible, trustworthy, and have the ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Are driven: You actively contribute to the development of the organization and to creating a good and pleasant working environment.
  • Are compassionate: You understand the importance of focusing on the organization, which you demonstrate through your warm attitude towards other people, with your good service sense and your willingness to work for good quality and high service levels.
  • Are flexible: With us, one day is not like the other, and you need to be able to handle rapid changes and unforeseen events.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience in kitchen, warehouse, and logistics operations. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Due to the importance of ensuring patient safety, all candidates will undergo a language test during a possible interview.

It is an advantage if you have previous experience from warehouse and logistics.
